Ash Wednesday

Today is Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of Lent. For Lent, I have chosen to give up Dr. Pepper's and am planning on really sticking with it! (that's what I say every time, but this time I mean it!) I drink 2-3 Dr. Pepper's a day which can be hard on the teeth and health so it's always easy to choose to give up DP for Lent. There's nothing better than salty food (or any food) paired with a DP. I even use Dr. Pepper lip balm. Every Lent, I think that by giving up DP, I would lose my crave for them or think they were too sweet after 40 days of its absence in my diet. But this has never worked. Maybe this year? I think it runs in the family to have an obsession with Dr. Pepper because my brother, John, drinks anywhere from 4-7 DP's a day. He gets his paychecks in $1 bills so he has easy access to an unlimited supply of DP's from the vending machine at Burk Royalty. So, Day 1 of no Dr. Pepper's starts now. Good luck to everyone who is giving something up! If you can't decide what to give up, I've come up with a list of ideas:
  1. Soft Drinks
  2. Fried Food
  3. Fast Food
  4. Bread
  5. Sweets (Candy, Dessert, etc...)
  6. Sleeping In
  7. Cigarettes (you can do it!)
If you can't kick a bad habit, try making a good one:
  1. Volunteering
  2. Adopting a pet (not really a habit, but for a good cause)
  3. Exercising
  4. Being healthy
  5. Drinking more water
  6. Recycling
  7. Better time management
  8. Or, you could actually follow through with your New Year's Resolution-I had too many this year which lead to me forgetting what mine even were?

I mosaicked this frame for James for Valentines Day. The blue on the bottom is a river, the green on the sides are stems with 2 flowers on either side, and the yellow is the sun. I made it with the idea of putting a photo from Jackson Hole, Wyoming in it but we decided on this one from ACL instead.
