MMK's Blog: Spring Flings

With the weather being nice, I have had the joy of spending a lot of time outside and it's been great! This Spring Break has been full of fun things to do, Susie's 21st bday, Chelsea and Haley came and stayed at our house in Austin!, Flaming Lips, Greenbelt hiking, Mexico with my family, SXSW Music and Film Festival. Chelsea, Haley and myself went to see a film called Blowfly; a documentary about the rapper. We even got to meet him after the show! He told us that he could never write a dirty song about us because we are angels, haha he was so old and crude! Mexico was awesome, such a nice get away and the weather was beautiful! My dad, James and I went surfing and I got up on my first wave! It was so much fun but it was a lot more tiring than I thought it would be, I could hardly lift my arms 2 days later. We got in a boat with 3 instructors and each put on wetsuit shirts that said "Ripper in Training" haha it was pretty funny! :) We got a little lesson on land (that was pretty hard to understand due to the accent, only 1 of the instructors spoke English very well) then went out for 2 hours. James and my dad both did really well so we all had a successful surfing trip! We also spent a lot of the trip buggy boarding, the waves and undertow were so powerful, you could only do it for so long. My mom, Mammy, Aunt Cissy and brother John watched as James, my Dad and I did all these activities. The rest of the trip consisted of laying around by the pool, swimming up to the bar, walking/running on the beach, eating delicious food, drinking Coronita's and Pacifico's, collecting craft worthy seashells and rocks, hanging out with the house pets at the Hotel, and hiking over to the beach across the way. We stayed at Casa de Mita in Punta Mita, and it was one of my favorite spots/hotels I've ever been! We were talking about having a McCracken family get together and I really hope it works out!!
